Shot blasting is used for mechanical cleaning of metal surfaces and removing from them defects such as: rust, mill scales, contamination and paint remains. However, the most important factor is that shot blasting activates the metal surface, which results in increasing of surface roughness and improves adhesion of paint. The process is carried out before powder coating or galvanizing and is performed in a special chamber, where streams of metal shots under high pressure hit a metal part. Shot blasting ensures the whole surface with all hard-to-reach spots is well cleaned, which is a great advantage.
